NFL Network's Ian Rapoport is reporting that the Los Angeles Rams have traded former All-Pro cornerback Marcus Peters to the Baltimore Ravens. ESPN Baltimore reporter Jamison Hensley has confirmed that the Rams will receive linebacker Kenny Young in the deal.
The Rams traded for Peters before the 2018 season and he has started every game for them since then. With only 20 targets, he is one short of qualifying for our cornerback coverage statistics (subscription required). However, when opponents have targeted Peters, they have burned him. He has surrendered 10.9 yards per target, which would be among the bottom five corners in the league if he qualified. He will be a free agent after the season. The Rams just put Aqib Talib on IR, so Nickell Robey-Coleman and Troy Hill are your new starting corners in L.A.
Young, a fourth-round draft pick in 2018, started six of his 21 games in Baltimore, including three of five this year. He had 2.5 sacks as a rookie, but none yet this season.
